“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here I am. Send me.” (Isaiah 6:8)
God’s plan! He has a certain plan and call for each of us. He prepares us from the moment we are born. We never know when or where he will send us but if we trust and say “YES LORD” he will never leave us. Tanzania was a country I first visited in 2009. My eyes, ears and heart were opened when I met “HIM” through the weak, poor and those that live without anything. I was filled to the brim through all of those I met, sat with, walked next to and began conversations with. The needs were great, and yes this is what he was asking of me – to serve the least of the least. So it wasn’t if or when, it was now and how do I serve? Grace has been the path – Simple Hope is God’s work – I am his willing servant.
“Love God with all your heart and soul and love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:36-40)
It is only by the grace of God that I live where I do…with easy access to water, food and a roof over my head, opportunities for employment and freedom. In Tanzania (and places around the globe) many of these comforts are only prayerful dreams. God has shown me the strife that many endure daily. He has laid it upon my heart and equipped me to reach out in Christian love to serve those who struggle daily, both in Tanzania and here in the US. The best way I know how to humbly thank and glorify Him for His grace is to answer His call to simply serve His people with hope.
I am a retired teacher from the School District of Menomonee Falls. I met Pam many years ago when I had the opportunity to be her daughters’ teacher. Pam shared her experiences in Tanzania with me and I was enthralled by her stories and drawn to serve the impoverished people there. As soon as I retired, I made a plan to visit Africa and volunteer in the schools there. I believe in the principal of “ repairing the world” and was motivated to help those in Tanzania become educated and build a self-sufficient community. I felt that I was able to make a difference with the people and was amazed by the gratitude and appreciation of those we served. To continue to make a difference, I am honored to serve as a board member of Simple Hope.
I am the CEO of Mahuta Tool Corp, a family run business. I have been a supporter of Simple Hope over the past several years. I am excited to share my business and administrative knowledge to help build and guide Simple Hope.
I am the business owner of Segues Inc. I have a heart and passion to serve locally, nationally and internationally. I feel fortunate to have climbed Mt.Kilimanjaro with Simple Hope in Feb 2015 and to have had the opportunity to visit the projects in Tanzania. Having this experience has motivated me to serve as a strong and compassionate board member.
God has given each of us talents to be used to do His work on earth. My involvement with Simple Hope is my opportunity to do a small part to honor God and at the same time to help others who are less fortunate than I am. It is exciting to watch what God has in store for Simple Hope and for the various communities in Tanzania who are receiving the blessings of Simple Hope, and I would not want to miss out on the chance to be involved.
